What is TDEE?

TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) is the total number of calories you burn in a day: your basal metabolic rate plus everything you do: walking, training, even digesting food. Eat at your TDEE and your weight holds steady; eat below it to lose fat, above it to gain.

How is TDEE calculated here?

We use the Mifflin-St Jeor equation to estimate resting energy needs, then apply an activity factor to estimate daily energy needs.

How accurate is a TDEE calculator?

This calculator provides a starting estimate, not a measurement of your daily calorie needs. Individual needs vary. Review your logged intake and weight trend over time before adjusting your goals.

Should I eat below my TDEE to lose fat?

A calorie deficit can support weight loss, but a suitable target depends on your circumstances. This calculator provides general estimates and cannot determine whether a weight-loss plan is appropriate for you.

Next step: turn TDEE into daily targets

Maintenance calories are the starting line. Use the macro calculator to split your calories into protein, carbs and fat for your goal: cutting, recomposition, or building muscle.
